Dr. Cintia Rabello examined teachers' professional development to foster key competences in the digital age.
Her study was developed at the Open University - Knowledge Media Institute under Dr. Okada's supervision. Dr Rabello is Bachelor of Arts (Portuguese-English) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Bachelor of Arts (Portuguese-English) from Universidade Santa Úrsula. She holds a Master degree in Educational Technology in Health Sciences by the Center for Educational Technology for Health (NUTES-UFRJ) with the dissertation entitled Learning in Distance Education: Difficulties of Biological Sciences Degree Students in Blended Learning Modality and PhD in Linguistics Applied by the Interdisciplinary Program Graduate Program in Applied Linguistics (PIPGLA-UFRJ) with a thesis entitled Digital technologies and higher education: an experience of teacher's professional development at UFRJ.
Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of English at the Department of Modern Foreign Languages at the Institute of Letters of the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) and researcher at the Center for Critical Studies in Languages, Education and Society (NECLES) and Research Center on Language, Education and Technologies (Lingnet / UFRJ).
Dr Rabello is a research member of the Colearn Learning Community at the Open University - UK. Her research interests focuses on foreign language teaching and learning, teacher training, digital technologies, digital culture, online education and social networks.
